The Sorrel Horse, Kintners Tavern and Rufes Corner were
original names until an application for a post office was made.
The post Office was established before 1894 and named Revere in
honor of Paul Revere.
Rufes Corner came from the Rufe family, Jacob Rufe arriving
in 1739. Other Revere families were Grims, Kohls and
Anders. 1.
