George R. Kline, Jr.

Lambertville, George R. Kline, Jr. died Oct. 3, 2001 at Chandler Hall in Newtown, PA. He was 79.

He was born in Lambertville and lived there all his life. He was the son of George and Ada Mary Reading Kline. He was the great-great-great-grandson of New Jersey's first governor, John Reading.

A noted storyteller and local historian, he was dedicated to preserving the lore of Lambertville and New Hope in both words and photographs. He often spoke on local history for area groups. Portions of his historical photograph library were often exhibited in his store and throughout the area.

With James Mastrich and Yvonne Warren, he co-authored Images of America: Lambertville and New Hope, published in 1996.
