MAUREEN HETRICK

 

MAUREEN HETRICK of Whitehall, formerly of Lansdale, died Aug. 12, 2003, at her parents' home, after a 4 1/2-year battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma. She was 32.

She was the beloved wife for seven years of JEFFREY HETRICK.

Born in Bryn Mawr, she was the dearest daughter of WILLIAM and JOANNE KRAFT DAY of Lansdale, and loving daughter-in-law of MARTIN and JANE KLINE HETRICK of Downington.

Maureen grew up in Trappe and Lansdale. She graduated with high honors from Gwynedd Mercy Academy and Summs cum laude from St. Joseph's University. She was an enthusiastic St. Joseph's Hawks basketball fan.

In 1995, she received her master's degree in physical therapy from Hahnemann University. Prior to her illness, Maureen worked as a physical therapist at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation in Allentown.

Maureen was a very faith-filled, loving and active individual. She enjoyed playing tennis, reading, gardening, quilting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed going to the beach and numerous outdoor activities, including walking her dog, Annie. Most of all, she relished the time spent with her family and friends. She was an active member of both Trinity Roman Catholic Church and Asbury United Methodist Church. Her strong faith and courage inspired all those around her.

In addition to her husband, parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Maureen is survived by her sister, KERRY MONASTRA and her husband, JOHN, of Perkasie; her brother, BRENDAN DAY and his wife, BEVERLY, of Niceville, Fla.; her maternal grandmother, MILDRED KRAFT of Sun City Center, Fla.; her brother-in-law, BRIAN HETRICK and his wife, APRIL, of Alburtis, Pa., and her her sister-in-law, KAREN SARAULLO and her husband, PAUL, of Fairless Hills. Also surviving are her four nieces and five nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, Pa 19454. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Warrington Township. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Joseph A. Fleuhr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (Route 202 at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain.

The family does request flowers or contributions in her memory be made to Hope Lodge, 125 Lucy Ave., Hummelstown, PA 17036 or to Grand View Hospital Hospice, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, PA 18960.
