Martha H. Hampton

Martha Hammerstone Hampton, formerly of Raubsville, Pa. and Carpentersville, N.J., died Monday, May 13, 2002 in Boyertown. She was 100.

She was the wife of Robert Hampton, who died in 1952.

Born April 12, 1902, in Durham, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Annie Hillpot Hammerstone.

She served as a Salvation Army officer from 1926 to 1939 and as corps sergeant major of the Salvation Army in Easton from 1973 until retiring in 1998. She was chairwoman of the Salvation Army’s Service Unit in Phillipsburg, N.J. and vicinity for more than 12 years.
