MERVIN W. WELCH
MERVIN W. WELCH of Holicong died
February 16 at Quakertown Center, where he had been a
resident for three years. He was 84.
He was the husband and dancing
partner of ESTHER FELLMAN WELCH, who survives. The
couple had been married for 59 years.
Born April 22, 1918, in Palermo,
N.J., he was the son of the late J. EDGAR and LOUISA
WILLIAMS WELCH.
For many years, Mr. Welch was a
dedicated farmer and enjoyed all aspects of his job.
He worked with ART and ELIZABETH
KINNEY in Holicong and three generations of the YERKES
family of None-Such-Farms in Buckingham.
Prior to his illness, Mr. Welch
was a member of Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, the
Doylestown Moose, and Central Bucks senior citizens.
He was a longtime member of Midway
Fire Co., where he qualified and enjoyed being a member
of the Midway Old Timers.
Mr. Welch loved his family and was
a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a
kind and caring man and a friend to many.
A memorial service will be held at
11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Forest Grove Presbyterian
Church, 1856 Forest Grove Road, Forest Grove. The
family will receive friends at a luncheon following the
service. Interment will be held privately. Arrangements
are by Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, Doylestown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions in Mr. Welch's name to the above-named
church at P.O. Box 462, Forest Grove, Pa 18922, would
be appreciated by the family.
