EVELYN UTZY RIPLEY
EVELYN UTZY RIPLEY of Heritage Towers,
Doylestown, and formerly of Glenside, died Friday, Aug. 29,
2003, at Doylestown Hospital. She was 90.
She was the wife of CARROLL RIPLEY of
Glenside for 40 years.
Born Dec. 24, 1912 in Wilkes Barre, Pa.,
she was the daughter of the late ABLE and ALICE (HESTLING)
DAVIES.
Mrs. Ripley had worked as a telephone
operator for Bell Telephone in Philadelphia and worked as a
receptionist for American Cyanamid in Fort Washington. During
World War II, Mrs. Ripley worked as a nurse's aide.
She was involved with the June Fete Book
for many years.
She was a member of the Blue Circle of
Glenside Kiwanis Club and Jarrettown United Methodist Church and
a former member of Questers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived
by her daughter, JOAN UTZY LOTT of Doylestown, her son, RICHARD
UTZY of Virginia, and her stepsons, TOM and BUD RIPLEY. She was
blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:30
p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at John R. Freed Funeral Home, 124 N.
Easton Road, Glenside, where friends may visit from 12:30 until
the time of the service. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial
Park, Somerton.
