DR. RICHARD K. ORMSBY
DR. RICHARD K. ORMSBY of North Wales,
formerly of Southampton, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at
Abington Memorial Hospital. He was 39.
He was the beloved husband of ADRIANA
ORMSBY.
Born in Abington Memorial Hospital, he was
the much loved son of CHARLES and LORRAINE ORMSBY.
Dr. Ormsby was a pediatrician at Abington
Memorial Hospital. He will be missed by his little patients,
some of whom dubbed him the "cowboy doctor," because he would
wear cowboy boots and the kids loved it.
Richard attended Centennial schools and
graduated first in his class in 1982 from Archbishop Wood High
School. He graduated from LaSalle University and Hahnemann
Medical School, where he was chief resident of pediatrics. That
is where he also met his wife, Adriana.
Richard went into practice with Dr. Cirotti
and Dr. Sohn at North Willow Grove Pediatrics.
He enjoyed fantasy football league with his
many friends. He also enjoyed reading the classics to his young
sons and playing board games and building snowmen with them.
Richard was very creative and had a knack
for building without plans; he built a deck on his house within
a week and built a fort for his boys, where they could camp out.
He also built a sleigh for a family Christmas party on very
short notice, which was so big that it held his whole family and
many gifts. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense
of humor.
He was the devoted father of CLINT and
NICHOLAS; the dearly loved brother of CHUCK ORMSBY (LINDA) and
MARYANNE ORMSBY; and the caring uncle of CHARLES, ASHLEIGH and
BRITTANY ORMSBY. Richard will be missed by his many uncles,
aunts, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11
a.m. to noon on Tuesday, prior to the memorial Mass at noon at
Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road,
North Wales.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be
sent to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 3 Forest St., New
Canaan, CT 06840.
