HARRY G. LAKE

 

HARRY G. LAKE, a resident of Menno Haven and formerly of Menno Village, Chambersburg, Pa., died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003. He was 90.

He was the husband of GRACE PAXSON LAKE, who died Dec. 23, 1978.

Born Aug. 19, 1912 in Mechanicsville, he was a son of the late FRANK H. and LUCY (GILMORE) LAKE. He was a graduate of Doylestown High School.

Mr. Lake and his brother, WATSON, owned and operated Lake Brothers Painting and Wallpaper Hanging in Buckingham for many years.

He had served as Justice of the Peace in Buckingham for many years.

Mr. Lake had been a member of Doylestown Presbyterian Church and a life member of Midway Volunteer Fire Co. in Lahaska.

He is survived by his son, HARRY G. LAKE JR. and his wife, VICKERY, of Wellsville, Pa.; his grandson, RANDY G. LAKE of Lebanon, Pa.; his granddaughters, JILL A. MCBRIDE of Dillsburg, Pa. and JOCELYN G. MARLOWE of Kyle, Texas; his brother, WATSON D. LAKE of Chambersburg; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, A. PAUL LAKE.

His memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Menno Haven, 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201, with Chaplain Vernon T. Isner officiating. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. There will be no viewing.

Memorial contributions may be made to Menno Haven at the above address.
