EVELYN W. HUGHES
EVELYN WILSON HUGHES of Ottsville died Aug.
14, 2003, at her home surrounded by her children, RAY, GALE and
MELISSA. She was 71.
She was preceded in death by her husband of
50 years, CHARLES "MARTY" HUGHES.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter
of JAMES L. and MABEL FRETZ WILSON.
She graduated from Olney High School after
leaving her mark in field hockey and tennis.
While living in Baltimore, she worked for
many years at the public library and continued to volunteer at
the Quakertown branch of the Bucks County Public Library. She
spent her latter years gardening and "yard sale-ing."
She is survived by her son, RAY, of
Catonsville, Md. and her daughters, GALE WHITE of Perry Hall,
Md. and DR. MELISSA HUGHES of Charleston, S.C. Also surviving
are her grandchildren, BRIAN HUGHES and LAURA WHITE; her brother
and sister-in-law, JIM and JOAN WILSON of Buckingham; and her
sister, DORIS SHISLER of Runnemeade, N.J.
At Evelyn's request, there will be no
funeral. She was an avid animal lover and memorial contributions
may be given to the animal welfare organization of one's choice.
