RICHARD L.
RICHARD LAWRENCE "DICK" DUNKLE of Souderton
died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at his home following a brief
illness. He was 74.
He was the husband of GENEVIEVE A. (KAST)
DUNKLE, with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage on Feb. 18.
Born in Warren, Pa., he was a son of the
late LAWRENCE J. and DOROTHY M. (ZERBE) DUNKLE.
Mr. Dunkle served his country in the U.S.
Naval Reserves, Jamestown, N.Y. from 1950 to 1958.
He moved to New Jersey and started Warren
Concrete Co. in 1954. He also founded Penn Cast Products,
Telford in 1964, retiring in 1984 after successfully running the
business for 20 years.
During his retirement years, he enjoyed
traveling in his motor home. He and his wife visited 49 states,
most recently visiting the Canadian Rockies together. He also
enjoyed skiing, boating, new cars, and visiting family and
friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by
four children, NANCY LEE MILLER and her husband, RICHARD, of
Sellersville; KATHLEEN M. GILL and her husband, IRV, of
Lansdale; RICHARD L. DUNKLE II and his wife, STEPHANIE, of
Telford; and LAURIE M. WAXLER and her husband, ANDREW, of
Wyomissing. His ten grandchildren will miss him as well. He was
preceded in death by all of his siblings, MILDRED SNARBURG,
ALBERT DUNKLE, JOETTE TUTTLE, RUTH MCGUIRE, JAMES DUNKLE and
SANDRA SLOCUM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend
his memorial service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Williams-Bergey-Koffel
Funeral Home, 667 Harleysville Pike (Route 113), Franconia,
where a calling hour will begin at 1.
