| Hartsville was an important point upon the ecclesiastical map of a century and a quarter ago. |
| "The Neshaminy church of Warwick" was one of the earliest religious organizations in the |
| state and the second Presbyterian society in the county. The congregation, composed of |
| immigrants from Ireland, was collected and organized by Reverend William Tennent in 1726. |
| Born in Ireland he came to America in 1716, and connected himself with the Presbyterian |
